Keto Logua

Keto Logua (b. 1988, Sochumi) studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and Berlin University of the Arts. In 2017, she participated in the Berlin Program for Artists. The scientific enquiry of natural phenomena is a recurring point of reference in Logua’s sculptures and films. Working with such discoveries, the artist creates objects by applying technological and artistic processes to past forms: for instance, 3D-printing a primordial flower or casting a stegosaurus back bone in metal. This self-described “material translation” hints at Logua’s enquiry, which often involves consulting scientists, botanists, and researchers as well as architects and illustrators to help find the language to visualize her artwork.
