Fran oise Vanneraud (b. 1984, Nantes), who has long investigated all possible perspectives of the landscape, be it as a territory, a historical place, or a container of endless micro-histories, has channelled her research on the expansion of the artistic medium on paper into her project for Disegni. The natural landscape is investigated here through the profile of a mountain in relation to the void of the sky above, made of cotton paper. Detailed white stars in felt-tip pen on a blue background converse with plants and trees in charcoal and ink with the addition of collages from ancient engravings that cover the entire stand and invite the visitor to step closer. As if drawn in magnetically, viewers may enjoy the drawing on both the micro and macro scale, enveloped by this nocturnal natural landscape under the aegis of the fragility and instability of paper and nature.
For several years, my work has revolved around the subjective perception of time and space through an exploration of the concepts of exile, wandering, memory, and lived time.
