Critical text

Formerly known as max wíllà morais, Tadáskía (b. 1993, Rio de Janeiro) is an artist, trans, and a writer. Her visual universe freely combines traces of evident social struggles and mystical evocations. Her multilayered practice draws from her Afro-diasporic heritage, her experience as a dissident body in Brazil, and the syncretic spirituality surrounding her to this day. To give form to drawings, photographs, installations, textile works, or performances, Tadáskía often opts for ordinary materials and found objects. Nail polish, make-up pads, and colored pencils meet beads, cloths, and tropical fruits in her at the same time politically incisive and otherworldly pieces.

The artist’s voice

Through the groups we see the movement of change: nothing is the same way as well as nothing finds itself without transforming.
